Fall 2022 Tree Planting Opportunities

We are so excited to announce our volunteer tree plantings for the fall! Planting native trees and shrubs along streams, rivers, and ponds – also known as riparian buffers – is a way to help clean water and connect wildlife habitat. These tree plantings will take place in Clarke, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties in October and November.


Tree Planting at Bonny Brook Farm

Join PEC for a volunteer tree planting at Bonny Brook Farm in Fauquier County on Thursday, October 13! Volunteers will be needed for one shift, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., to help plant 55 native trees and shrubs along Cedar Run to enhance water quality and wildlife habitat as part of our Potomac Planting Program!

Tree Planting at Long Branch Farm

Join PEC for a volunteer tree planting at Long Branch Farm in Clarke County on Monday, October 31. Volunteers will be needed for two shifts, one from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and the other from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m., to help plant 270 native trees and shrubs along Long Branch to enhance water quality and wildlife habitat as part of our Potomac Planting Program!

Tree Planting at the Lane Property

Join PEC for a volunteer tree planting at the Lane Property in Rappahannock County on Wednesday, November 9. Volunteers will be needed for two shifts, one from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and the other from 1:30 – 4 p.m., to help plant 330 native trees and shrubs along a tributary of Kilby’s Creek to enhance water quality and wildlife habitat as part of our Headwater Stream Initiative!

Tree Planting at Clermont Farm

Join PEC for a volunteer tree planting at Clermont Farm in Clarke County on Saturday, November 12! Volunteers will be needed for two shifts, one from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and the other from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m., to help plant about 300 native trees and shrubs along Dog Run to enhance water quality and wildlife habitat as part of our Potomac Planting Program!

Can’t make it out to a tree planting? Through September, when you shop in-store at your local Orvis in ArlingtonLeesburgTysons Corner or Woodbridge and spend $10 or more, Orvis will donate $10 on your behalf to PEC’s tree planting efforts as a part of #GivebackDays.
