As spring peepers herald in a new season of tree plantings, we invite you to join in the work of conservation. Over the winter, we received many applications from area landowners to participate in Plantings for the Piedmont. Thanks to this hearty community engagement, dozens of projects are planned throughout the region where thousands of native trees and shrubs will be planted.
From the Blue Ridge to the Chesapeake Bay, these riparian and upland plantings are part of a growing ribbon of green along the waterways that are part of the Rappahannock, Potomac, and York watersheds. Each planting joins forces with the next in stewardship of the ecosystems we all rely on. The results are generous — aquifers restored, water and air quality protected, and habitats created and diversified. Thank you for your participation in furthering these goals!
We hope you can join us this spring!
