City Nature Challenge (Charlottesville Region)

We are constantly surrounded by nature in the Charlottesville area: it is in the soil of a flowerbed, flying overhead, and even growing in the cracks of sidewalks. Head outside and see what you can find in Charlottesville and the surrounding counties and make the City Nature Challenge a success!

Take pictures of wildlife in the iNaturalist App! Don’t let the word “city” fool you—observations can be made anywhere from your backyard to your favorite park or join us for the experiences below. Read more about the fun.
