Gigaland is back with its latest proposal, renamed Remington Digital Campus. While the new proposal represents a smaller footprint (a relative term when talking about millions of square feet) for its six data center buildings, the meaningful changes stop there.

Remington Tech Park Developer Plans a Permanent Gas Fuel Cell Power Plant
The Remington Tech Park data center campus developer, PointOne, has proposed an onsite power plant that would rely on natural gas fuel cells. The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to hear the application on July 9 and we think it should defer its decision.

Gigaland Application Withdrawn: Our Community’s Voice Was Heard!
In a victory and a testament to the power of civic engagment, the developers for the proposed Gigaland data center project in Remington have officially withdrawn their application. However, the developers have stated their intention to submit a new, revised application as soon as January.
