Increasing Access to Energy Efficiency & Solar with On-Bill Financing
March 23, 2021 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Join Repower REC to learn how you could lower your monthly energy bills by upgrading your home through a new on-bill financing program that is coming to Rappahannock Electric Co-op (REC)! On-bill financing will enable co-op members to upgrade their homes with cost-effective energy efficiency measures, and then pay for those upgrades entirely through future bill savings.

From Repower REC event description:
This on-bill financing program does not involve loans, carries no up-front costs, and is guaranteed to lower monthly energy bills! Two years ago Repower REC urged REC to adopt a program like this. It’s great that REC is finally planning to do just that!
In the future, on-bill financing could be used for solar, battery storage, or other technologies that increase energy savings. Repower REC is excited that this program is coming to Rappahannock Electric Co-op members and is hosting this forum to help member-owners like you learn about how these programs have, for many years, helped electric co-op members around the country reduce their power bills. We will be joined by national experts on on-bill financing, including:
– Rory McIlmoil from Appalachian Voices
– Liz Veazey from Solar United Neighbors, and
– Katherine Johnson from Johnson Consulting Group.
The on-bill financing program being pursued by Rappahannock Electric Co-op after a 2020 Virginia law authorized state utility regulators to pre-approve the program for electric co-ops in Virginia. All Virginia electric co-ops could offer an on-bill financing program like PAYS in the future!
This event is being hosted by Repower REC and co-hosted by: Appalachian Voices, The Piedmont Environmental Council, Solar United Neighbors, and Virginia Interfaith Power & Light.
Repower REC is a grassroots campaign of concerned Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) member-owners and friends seeking genuine democratic governance at our electric cooperative. Repower REC is not affiliated with Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.
