Fifeville Trail Opening Celebration

[POSTPONED] Join local community leaders on Oct. 1 to celebrate the opening of the Fifeville Trail, which creates new connections between Tonsler Park and surrounding neighborhoods. The trail walk/ribbon cutting will be followed by a block party.

Neighborhood leaders will gather at Tonsler Park Recreation Center (located at 500 Cherry Ave, Charlottesville) at 11:15 a.m. and then lead a guided trail walk at 11:30 a.m. This is a great opportunity to meet with the community and enjoy the new trail, which connects a beautiful natural space in the heart of Charlottesville.

The trail walk will be followed by a block party at the Shops at Cherry Ave (formerly known as Cherry Avenue Shopping Center), located at 814-830 Cherry Ave, from noon to 4 p.m. This free, family-friendly gathering will benefit the Music Resource Center. It will feature a bounce house, local vendors, fun activities, music, treats, food trucks, free pizza for the kids, games, and giveaways.

Both of these events celebrate the residents, history and businesses along Cherry Avenue and the Fifeville community.
