Virtual House Party and Auction

Update from September 4, 2020:

What an amazing way to celebrate the Piedmont! We hope you enjoyed watching the auction unfold as much as we did! Thank you for your generous support and participation during the PEC Virtual House Party & Auction. The proceeds from this event will go towards PEC’s efforts to protect open spaces, provide public access, and strengthen local food systems.

While the auction is closed for bidding, the paddle raise is open until Wednesday, September 30 and you can still make a contribution to our core programs like PEC’s Community Farm and Buy Fresh Buy Local, as well as our temporary work to provide food pantries with local sources of milk and beef. Thank you again for your outstanding support!

We can’t wait to see you in person at St. Brides Farm on October 2, 2021!

With gratitude,

Jean Perin & Gertraud Hechl
Co-Chairs, Event Committee

Original post from August 2020:

Beautiful views. Delicious, locally-sourced food. Music and laughter. These are the wonderful things we reminisce about when we think of last year’s Dinner on the Runway at Oak Spring Garden Foundation. For those of you who were able to join us for that event, we hope you share similarly fond memories!

Although we had intended to relive these experiences with you at St. Brides Farm in September, much has changed. Over the past several months, we have had to adjust all of our event offerings to an online format, so that we can connect with you in a way that is informative, fun and safe. One thing that remains unchanged, is the importance of this annual event in raising critical funds to support work that conserves land, strengthens rural economies, and increases accessibility to local food. So, this year instead of our in-person event, we are so excited to invite each of you to participate in our first-ever Virtual House Party and Auction!

From September 18 to September 26, we will host an online auction and paddle raise which includes some outstanding packages with experiences unique to the Virginia Piedmont. Additionally, registrants will enjoy an event video, with a never before shown aerial tour of the unparalleled St Bride’s sculpture collection and much more.

We are sorry we can’t celebrate with you in person this year, but we hope that you consider supporting our Virtual House Party by becoming an event sponsor. Your support makes a measurable difference in the lives of people of the Virginia Piedmont and beyond. We look forward to seeing you in person at St. Brides Farm in 2021 for the next Farm-to-Table dinner.

Until then, just as if you were right there with us on the runway, we hope you’ll join us at our Virtual House Party and support your PEC.

With gratitude,

Jean Perin & George Ohrstrom
Co-Chairs, Board of Directors
The Piedmont Environmental Council
