Give Local Piedmont was a community-wide online giving challenge that sought to inspire folks to make donations of $10 or more to local nonprofits for 24 hours on May 6. Part of a national campaign, Give Local Piedmont supported the effort for Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Rappahannock Counties. And the good news is—it worked!
Not sure what to expect, PEC set a goal to raise $1,500 toward the 1.5 mile extension of the Warrenton Branch Greenway trail. Well, not only was the goal met, it was surpassed by more than $1,000! A total of 48 donations were made toward the trail, totaling $2,725!
We are all impressed and thankful for the generosity of the folks who made a special donation. Last year, PEC pledged to fund the remaining $30,000 to complete the trail’s expansion. And with these recent donations, we have now reached the halfway mark!
