Generation NEXT Workshop in Charlottesville

September 16, 2023 @ 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Preparing for Generation NEXT Workshops will get you started on the right path.

These workshops provide free legal information and landowner stories about successful estate planning steps and strategies they have used.

Speakers include legal and financial experts experienced in estate planning as well as natural resource professionals and rural landowners.

The workshop covers the Nine Steps to Successful Legacy Planning:

  1. Commit to beginning the legacy planning and keep moving forward
  2. Determine your family assets
  3. Write down long-term goals for your land
  4. Hold a family meeting
  5. Gather/create essential documents
  6. Establish your legacy planning team
  7. Explore the legal, financial, and conservation tools available to help you meet your goals
  8. Provide opportunities for your family to learn about and enjoy your woodlands
  9. Revisit your plan on a regular basis and adapt as your land, assets and family change

Cost: $80/family pair, includes materials, lunch & refreshments
