Evelyn Eichorn joined The Piedmont Environmental Council as a Senior Land Use Field Representative for Fauquier County in June 2025.
Evelyn grew up in Michigan, the heart of the Great Lakes region, known for its agriculture and recreation. After spending most of her formative years on farms, in 4-H, and with horses, she pursued degrees in business and agriculture. She met and married her life partner with whom she made a bold move to Fauquier County in 1986 for opportunities in the horse industry.
Working in the breeding and showing spaces soon evolved into a career path traversing equine veterinary medicine, academia, research and technology. After a few years working for a Silicon Valley start-up, Evelyn was inspired to venture out on her own as a consultant, traveling across the country.
In 2020, Evelyn decided to focus her volunteer efforts locally on conservation and preservation, advocacy and engagement in Fauquier County. She spent five years re-connecting with her county, its citizens, its government, for profit and nonprofit organizations. She knew she must contribute to the conservation and preservation of natural and cultural resources and she recognized PEC as the preeminent regional leader in these areas.
In her free time, Evelyn enjoys views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from a parcel of farmland once owned by George Washington. Forever seeking its best and highest uses, she prioritizes having horses and a large garden again, as well as partnering with like minds.
