ABOUT THE EVENT

The Rivanna River Round-Up is an annual watershed-wide cleanup event hosted by the Rivanna Conservation Alliance. Since it began in 2020, volunteers have removed hundreds of bags of trash and tires from our local streams, trails, and river through this event. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, our regular cleanup sites are steadily improving and we are able to clean up new areas each year. This year’s event is on and around Saturday, September 19th. Signups are open now!

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Sign up for a Round-Up cleanup – Some cleanups will focus on trails or riverbanks, while others will require volunteers to get in streams to gather trash. Site descriptions indicate whether waders or other special equipment might be needed, and what RCA can provide. For all sites, RCA will provide cleanup kits that include trash bags, gloves, first aid kits, instructions, hand sanitizer, and other helpful supplies. More cleanup sites may be added as we continue to scout locations. For groups larger than 10, please email [email protected] to set up a cleanup.

Sign up for a self-guided cleanup – If the cleanups are full, or if there is a different site where you would like to conduct your own cleanup, RCA would love to support you! We can offer basic cleanup supplies like trash bags, gloves, and hand sanitizer.
