The Places PEC Works

PEC focuses on nine counties and one city in the northern Piedmont of Virginia: Albemarle, Charlottesville, Culpeper, Clarke, Fauquier, Greene, Loudoun, Orange, Madison, and Rappahannock.

Albemarle & Charlottesville

The staff of five in PEC's Charlottesville office works with citizens to solve the many land use and conservation challenges facing the Charlottesville and Albemarle area.

Clarke County

Clarke County has a time-honored tradition of promoting and protecting its agricultural roots. It was one of the first counties in the nation to adopt protective zoning regulations, and continues to conserve its unique heritage.

Culpeper County

PEC's Culpeper County office supports our land use and land conservation activities in the County. PEC is dedicated to promoting healthy communities and the preservation of Culpeper's rural character, environment and historic resources.

Fauquier County

PEC works to help citizens in Fauquier build better communities and protect cherished resources--scenic views, working farms, historic heritage, clean water, and healthy air.

Greene County

PEC serves as an asset to citizens in Greene who seek to protect this traditionally agricultural community from increasingly rapid development.

Loudoun County

PEC stands with citizens to build excellent communities, relieve taxes and traffic, and protect open space in Loudoun County. We work to maintain a balance between the towns, the suburbs and the country so residents can enjoy them all.

Madison County

PEC's Madison County office supports our land use and land conservation activities in the County. PEC is dedicated to promoting healthy communities and the preservation of Madison's rural character, environment and historic resources.

Orange County

PEC's Orange County office supports our land use and land conservation activities in the County. PEC is dedicated to promoting healthy communities and the preservation of Orange's rural character, environment and historic resources.

Rappahannock County

PEC is proud to join other local groups and interested citizens in successful efforts to protect the magnificent natural and cultural heritage of Rappahannock County.

Regional, State, & National

PEC joins with partner organizations to promote thriving communities and healthy natural resources in the Shenandoah Valley, the central Piedmont, the Journey Through Hallowed Ground corridor and greater D.C.
