Event Series: Wegmeyer Farms’ Lincoln Strawberry Festival

Wegmeyer Farms’ Lincoln Strawberry Festival

May 19, 2024 @ 10:30 am – 5:00 pm

Old-fashioned, hometown fun! Enjoy three days of awesome family-friendly events hosted by Wegmeyer Farms, from a BIP (Berry Important Person) Denim Gala to strawberry pancake breakfasts to a festival of food, vendors, entertainment, contests and more. With all of the proceeds benefitting community organizations and local high school students, you won’t want to miss out. Tickets are available at lincolnstrawberryfestival.com.

PEC is proud to be a sponsor of the Lincoln Strawberry Festival, hosted by our long-time local agriculture partner, Wegmeyer Farms.

In 2019, PEC announced its ownership of the Gilberts Corner Farmers Market at the intersection of Rt. 50 and Rt. 15 in Loudoun County. As a first step in ensuring farm production at the corner, we entered into a long-term agreement to lease fields to farmer Tyler Wegmeyer, who has been part of the market since 2012. Opposite Rt. 50 from the market, we also launched our 40-acre Community Farm at Roundabout Meadows in 2019 to grow fresh produce for area food pantries and demonstrate regenerative agriculture practices.

Wegmeyer and his family have for many years run a popular CSA and pick-your-own service at its locations, enabling visitors and residents of Loudoun County to roam strawberry patches for the freshest, ripest berries beginning in May, and to pick pumpkins and sunflowers through the fall.

Strawberries will be appearing for sale at Gilberts Corner Farmers Market soon, so be sure to take advantage of this delicious season!
