Upper & Middle James Riparian Consortium – Buffer Summit and Celebration

October 18, 2023 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Please save the date and join us for the fifth annual Buffer Summit and Celebration hosted by the Upper & Middle James Riparian Consortium! The Buffer Summit will be held in person on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location:

Pocahontas State Park – Powhatan Hall – 10301 State Park Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832

Schedule:

10 – 10:30 a.m. — Registration and Refreshments
10:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. — Morning Presentations

Growing Career Paths through the Consortium

Let’s Talk Turkey — Management Practices to Benefit Wildlife and Create Diversity

Hear from Cully McCurdy with the National Wild Turkey Federation on turkeys and their dependence on our riparian forests.

Connecting and Protecting Riparian Corridors

Hear from Kim Biasiolli with the Piedmont Environmental Council on elements of a good riparian wildlife corridor and initiatives to connect and protect them.
