Cville Bike to Work Week: Tuesday Bike Bus and Appreciation Stations

May 16, 2023 @ 7:45 am – 9:00 am

Interested in biking to work (or wherever you go) but afraid to try it? Looking for safety in numbers? Do you simply enjoy meeting–and riding with–other people?

Join this moderately-paced group ride that will cross town, picking up and dropping off cyclists along the way as we bike to work. Like a bus, the group will make scheduled stops and riders are free to come and go as best suits their travel needs.

Here’s the route [View Map]:

7:45 a.m. The Wool Factory (1837 Broadway Street)
7:50 a.m. Riverview Park
8:00 a.m. Meade Park
8:15 a.m. Downtown (The Piedmont Environmental Council, 410 East Water Street)*
8:30 a.m. The Rotunda
8:45 a.m. UVA Facilities (Skipwith Hall, 1490 Leake Drive)*

*There will be Bike to Work Appreciation Stations at The Piedmont Environmental Council (snacks from Blue Ridge Country Store!) and at Skipwith Hall, with snacks, swag and lots of encouragement!

Although one need not be an expert cyclist, riders will be expected to have a bike that is in good working order and be able to maintain a moderate pace. This “bike bus” is a commute to work, so we’re hoping to make sure everyone arrives on time to their workplace destinations!
