Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn about successful strategies and available resources for your community. The half-day workshop will focus on giving your town or village the tools, resources, and contacts you need to implement pedestrian, streetscape, trail and traffic calming projects. It will also be an opportunity to network with other local leaders interested in making their Piedmont communities more vibrant and walkable.

Sessions will include:

  • Piedmont success stories – Officials from the Towns of Gordonsville and Hillsboro sharing their communities’ project infrastructure and community revitalization success stories.
  • Tools to build and implement your vision – state agency and town planners will discuss funding and technical assistance programs and share best practices.
  • Building consensus and identifying opportunities – Alia Anderson, AICP, Director of Planning, North America, for planning and design firm Toole Design Group, will discuss key strategies based on the firm’s deep experience in communities of all sizes.

We’re excited to host this event at the Refinery, a renovated 1950s building in the heart of downtown Culpeper, which will be a great backdrop to inspire your own community revitalization efforts. In addition to speakers from Virginia agencies and consultants, officials from the towns of Gordonsville and Hillsboro will share their communities’ success stories.

In the next few weeks, we’ll be adding full details and the agenda to this page. Space is limited to 50 people, so reserve your spot today! This event is free and lunch will be provided.

Hosted by the Piedmont Environmental Council and the Coalition for Smarter Growth.
