Bee-Friendly Beef Producer Workshop

Are you a farmer interested in promoting pollinator habitat in your pastures while meeting your production goals? Join VWL for their “Bee-Friendly Beef Producer Workshop” on Thursday, August 3, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, VA.

During this event, you’ll hear from researchers from VWL, Virginia Tech, and the University of Tennessee who will share findings from current research on the impacts of integrating native wildflower plantings into livestock pastures. Following a series of expert-led morning lectures, you are invited to join visiting scientists on a tour of one of VWL’s “Bee-Friendly Beef” demonstration farms. During the tour, you will have opportunities to observe and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with bee-friendly beef production. Additionally, this tour provides a valuable opportunity to make new connections with producers, scientists, and conservation practitioners from across the region.
