2024 Rivanna River Basin Commission Annual Conference

September 27, 2024 @ 9:30 am – 1:00 pm

Bridging the Gaps: Conservation, Connectivity, and the Future of the Urban Rivanna River

We are bringing together river enthusiasts, environmental stewards, and community leaders to discuss the future of the Rivanna River. Join us at the Carver Recreation Center for exciting updates on local projects in the urban corridor, a community panel on conservation and connectivity, and networking opportunities. There will not be a remote or hybrid version and lunch is provided from Take It Away (sandwich, chips, cookies, and drinks).

PEC’s Albemarle and Charlottesville Community Advocacy Manager, Peter Krebs, will sit on a panel to discuss wins and roadblocks to enhancing stewardship, public health, river access and connectivity in the urban Rivanna corridor alongside the Rivanna Conservation Alliance, Virginia Department of Health, Visitors Bureau, Piedmont Environmental Council, Parks & Rec, and the Rivanna River Company.

Let’s work together to protect and preserve this beautiful river for generations to come!

This event is hosted by the Rivanna River Basin Commission.
