Emily joined PEC in 2026 as the Conservation Field Representative for Rappahannock County. Emily was introduced to conservation work and the Virginia Piedmont during an AmeriCorps term with Virginia Outdoors Foundation. She later moved to New York’s Hudson Valley where she spent several years doing conservation easement stewardship at Scenic Hudson and worked on land acquisition projects for New York State Parks. 

Emily grew up in northern New Jersey and gained a love for nature doing hiking trips in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains. She has a degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh. Emily loves to experience nature and new places and appreciates the ability to support a strong sense of place and community through her work.
