Tree Planting at Pen Druid Brewing

March 16, 2023 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Join Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR) on Thursday, March 16 for an afternoon of planting trees at Pen Druid Brewing! From 3 – 6 p.m., FOR staff will be on-site to help plant 300 native trees and shrubs along the Thornton River.

Register: https://riverfriends.org/event/tree-planting-at-pen-druid-brewing/

The process of tree planting requires scalping to remove grass around the planting area, digging holes, planting of the seedlings, and installing tree shelters and wooden stakes.

Friends of the Rappahannock will provide gloves, tools, and planting material. Just bring your work boots, sunscreen and water to join us for a day at the brewery helping to maintain a restoration project. Afterward, enjoy a pint while you watch the sunset behind the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Interested in participating? Sign up online or feel free to reach out to Carmen Cantrell, Headwaters Restoration Technician with Friends of the Rappahannock at [email protected], (540) 222-8774.

Location: Pen Druid Brewing
