(Richmond) The Virginia Coal and Energy Commission subcommittee studying the dangers and benefits of uranium mining met on May 21, 2009 in Richmond, and decided to proceed with a study to review the safety of Uranium Mining in Virginia.
In March, 2010, a symposium of uranium mining experts shared the following presentations. The program was put on in cooperation with Friends of the Earth, the Dan River Basin Association, PEC, Sierra Club, SELC, VCN, and VA Interfaith Power and Light.
