SUMMARY:Basics of Land Conservation and Farm Grants
DESCRIPTION:Join us Monday\, Feb. 23 evening to learn more about the various conservation tools available to landowners interested in protecting their land and the area’s significant farm and forestland.  \n\n\n\nThe Piedmont Environmental Council‘s Conservation Program Manager\, Kim Biasiolli\, will talk about conservation easements\, applicable grants\, and additional conservation tools\, opportunities and cost-share programs that landowners can take advantage of.  \n\n\n\nWhere: Greene County Library (Senior Citizen Room)\, 222 Main Street\, Stanardsville\, VaWhen: Monday\, Feb. 23 @6:30-8 p.m. Who: You! This event is free.  \n\n\n\nSpeaker Highlight: Kim Biasiolli is a Conservation Program Manager for PEC.  She joined PEC in 2022 with over 20 years of experience working on biodiversity protection\, natural resources management\, and land conservation projects and initiatives. Prior to joining PEC\, Kim worked as the natural resources manager for Albemarle County\, and as a forest conservation specialist for the Virginia Department of Forestry\, where she managed the agency’s forestland conservation and stewardship efforts throughout the Piedmont region.In the early days of her career\, she worked as a rare plant botanist and vegetation ecologist with the Nature Conservancy and the National Park Service. Kim received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College and a M.S. in Natural Resources: Forest Ecology from the University of Vermont.  \n\n\n\n*** \n\n\n\nThe Piedmont Environmental Council works across a nine-county region to protect the lands and waters of the Virginia Piedmont\, while building stronger\, more sustainable communities.
