SUMMARY:2023 Resilient Virginia Conference: Economic Opportunities for Community Resilience

Join VWL for their “Bee-Friendly Beef Producer Workshop” on Thursday\, August 3\, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.\, at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal\, VA. \n\n\n\nDuring this event\, you’ll hear from researchers from VWL\, Virginia Tech\, and the University of Tennessee who will share findings from current research on the impacts of integrating native wildflower plantings into livestock pastures. Following a series of expert-led morning lectures\, you are invited to join visiting scientists on a tour of one of VWL’s “Bee-Friendly Beef” demonstration farms. During the tour\, you will have opportunities to observe and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with bee-friendly beef production. SUMMARY:Wildflower Walk at Roundabout Meadows
DESCRIPTION:Join PEC’s Tree Planting and Stewardship Coordinator\, Linnea Stewart\, and Gilberts Corner Farm and Land Manager\, Dana Melby\, for an afternoon walk along the Old Carolina Road Trail and through the meadow while learning about wildflowers and PEC’s approach to restoring the meadow. All skill levels are welcome. The walk will be approximately 1 mile long and will traverse a mowed walking path with occasional uneven ground along the Old Carolina Road Trail (sunscreen and bug spray recommended). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParking is at the Mt.
