Webinar: What Climate Change Means for the Health of Virginians

December 09, 2019 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm
This event is online

This webinar is intended for professionals working in the environmental field. Find out what clinicians in Virginia are doing to advance solutions to this emerging health issue and how you or your organization can get connected with Virginia Clinicians for Climate Action.

Physicians are already seeing the health effects of climate change on Virginians today.

Longer and more severe heat waves are placing people at increasing risk of heat-related illness. Warmer winters and earlier springs promote increased numbers of ticks that can transmit Lyme disease and other infections. Longer and more severe allergy seasons are increasing exacerbations of asthma, chronic lung disease and allergies.

Doctors, nurses and allied health professions are coming together in Virginia and across the country to address the intersections of climate change and health.

*The webinar will last about 20 minutes with some added time for some questions.
