September 19, 2019 06:00 pm - 07:30 pm
Location: Chapman Farm, Woodside Lane 5474, Bealeton, Virginia

Controlling highly invasive annual grasses on low lying or poorly draining pastures can be challenging! Learn from John Marshall Soil and Water Conservation District, Virginia Cooperative Extension staff and other landowners about successful pasture management strategies. Tour best management practices (BMPs) on the farm and learn about an array of conservation practices including cover crops and cropland conversion, stream fencing and watering system installation and maintenance. State foresters will share information on forest stewardship plans and other services.

There will also be an update on Virginia’s newly incentivized Agricultural Cost-Share (VACS) program, which has record levels of funding.

This event is free, open to the public, and includes a complimentary meal.

*Please RSVP by September 17, 2019 to John Marshall SWCD by phone at 540.347.3120 x 3.
