Webinar Viewing Party: Barbara Brown Wilson

August 14, 2019 01:00 pm - 02:30 pm
Location: PEC Charlottesville Office, Water Street East 410, Charlottesville, Virginia

U.VA. Professor Barbara Brown Wilson studies less-conventional, but often more effective, methods to make communities more resilient. Her new book, Resilience for All, takes an in-depth look at what equitable, positive change through community-driven design looks like in four vulnerable communities: East Biloxi, Mississippi; the Lower East Side of Manhattan; the Denby neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan; and the Cully neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. She shows how community-driven design projects in underserved neighborhoods can not only change the built world, but also provide opportunities for residents to build their own capacities.

We will tune in to the 1-hour webinar and have a brief discussion about local implications and possibilities afterward.

This event is free, but please RSVP on Eventbrite. Refreshments will be served.
