DESCRIPTION:Learn more about the proposed Charlottesville-Gordonsville transmission line and it’s impacts to resources. \n\n\n\nAcross our nine-county region\, The Piedmont Environmental Council is leading the effort to mitigate data center infrastructure projects\, including through the Southwest Mountains. \n\n\n\nDominion Energy has proposed to wreck and rebuild 20 miles of existing single-circuit 230 kV transmission lines between Dominion’s Charlottesville and Gordonsville substations as a double-circuit 230 kV transmission line — likely driven by increased energy demand due to data centers. \n\n\n\nStaff from The Piedmont Environmental Council will present about the Charlottesville-Gordonsville project\, how it fits into a broader data-center driven movement\, and how you can make your voice heard. \n\n\n\nWhat we’ll cover: \n\n\n\n\nDetails about the Charlottesville-Gordonsville project and its impacts\n\n\n\nContext about how the project fits into a broader data-center driven movement and lessons learned from other transmission line projects\n\n\n\nActionable steps that you can take to get involved\n\n\n\n\nRefreshments and snacks will be provided. \n\n\n\nThis event is free but registration is required.
