Mardi Gras Social Bike Ride

February 22, 2020 04:00 pm - 08:00 pm
Location: Charlottesville Community Bikes, 405 Avon Street , Charlottesville, Virginia

Laissez les bons temps rouler with a fun, relaxed and social ~4 mile bicycle ride through the streets of Charlottesville! Deck out your bike (and yourself) with Mardi Gras flair, bright colors, and music!

Invite your friends and make some new ones! Whether you're an experienced bicyclist or not, come out and enjoy a fun evening. It’s free and open to all.

We'll gather at Community Bikes at 4:00pm for some bike-decorating and a safety talk. The ride itself will begin at 5:00, follow bike lanes and quiet neighborhood street wherever possible. We will stop and take at least one break in a park along the way. The ride will end back at the Bridge with fellowship, refreshments, and a brief discussion.

Staff and volunteers from Community Bikes, The Piedmont Environmental Council, and the Charlottesville Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Council will be on-hand to help. Stop by a bit early if you'd like to help--or need help--with decorations / repairs.
