Social Sculpture for Next-Gen Conservationists

October 2, 2022 @ 5:30 pm 8:00 pm

Participate in a youth-performed experiential art project from MacArthur Fellow Elizabeth Turk and gather as a community to learn about some of the plants that make our region special!

Free tickets will be available beginning August 29.

The night after PEC’s 50th Anniversary Gala, Elizabeth Turk’s social sculpture comes alive again at the Oak Spring Garden Foundation (OSGF) with a focus on the next generation! Students 18 years of age and younger are invited to participate in the event, recreating the umbrella constellation in an evening that blends art, science, dance, music, photography, drone operations, videography, agriculture, and more!

OSGF will provide cookies and farm-fresh snacks grown on-site at the Biocultural Conservation Farm. Guests will learn about endangered native plant species and participate in a seed-saving demonstration with heirloom plants. Drone operators will be on site to engage the students with the art and technology of drones. Special take-home gifts will be available for K-12 students. More info and registration >>
