Constitution Day at James Madison’s Montpelier

Masks are required in all indoor spaces – this includes the House, Visitor Center, and exhibition spaces. Read our visitor guidelines here. Thank you for helping us to keep visitors and staff healthy!

“Highlights of Montpelier” tours will be offered between 9:30 AM and 2 PM. Additionally, a tour of the Annie duPont Formal Garden will be offered at 10:30 AM and an archaeology-focused tour will be offered at the field lab at 1:30 PM. You are encouraged to purchase your tickets online before your visit – space is limited.

Mr. Madison will be onsite near the Temple and having interactive discussions at 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM. The archaeology field lab will be open for exploration. Barbara’s Soul Food on Wheels will be serving up delicious meals from 11 AM-3 PM. The Mere Distinction of Colour and South Yard exhibition spaces will be open. 1st Regiment of Dragoons Revolutionary War will be onsite and giving demonstrations between 10 AM-2 PM. Don’t forget to bring your walking shoes and hike our 8-mile trail system.

Enjoy music in the Visitor Center Courtyard from Calvin Earl (11 AM-1 PM) and Boxed Lunch (1 PM-3 PM).

Also in the Visitor Center, the Museum Shop will be offering a 20% store-wide discount.

You must purchase a property pass to access the grounds (Orange County residents are free of charge!). We encourage you to purchase your pass before your visit.
