63rd Annual Garden Club of Virginia Conservation Forum, Birds: Feathers, Fields, Forests, and Flowers

Birds: Feathers, Fields, Forests and Flowers, the 63rd GCV Conservation Forum, offers an impressive roster of speakers who will entertain and educate attendees on the “brilliance of birds” and some of the threats that are causing their numbers to diminish. Learn how our actions can help protect birds and their habitats, now and in the future. A question and answer session will follow each presenter.

Ackerman will talk about her adventures, from the beaches of Barbados to the rainforests of New Caledonia and the woods and fields of Virginia, as she shares stories and stunning photos from her journey to better understand the feathered geniuses all around us. Learn how birds make and use their own tools, teach one another new skills, count, navigate, exercise astonishing feats of memory, create works of art, communicate in ways that resemble language, and even pass along cultural traditions.
