Preservation Outreach Representative
Damien joined the staff of The Piedmont Environmental Council in June 2021 as the Rural Southwest Mountains Historic District Intern. In August 2021, Damien transitioned into the role of Preservation Outreach Representative. In this capacity, Damien meets with relevant stakeholders to support PEC’s efforts in mapping and documenting several historically African American communities in and around the Southwest Mountains area of Albemarle County.
Prior to joining PEC, Damien was the Firm Administrator for the Commonwealth’s Attorney in the County of Fauquier where he served as the liaison for the Commonwealth’s Attorney in addition to managing department operations and the state and local budgets. Damien has served on the U40 Board for the Great Meadow Foundation and previously served as the Community Outreach Chairperson for the Better Housing Coalition YP Board in Richmond, Virginia where he advocated and raised funds for affordable housing in the Greater Richmond area.
A Warrenton native, Damien holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Hampden-Sydney College and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Public Administration at Cornell University. At Cornell, Damien serves as a member of the Campus Planning Committee and as Executive Vice President for both the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly and the Cornell Public Affairs Society. Damien resides with his partner in Ithaca, New York.
