Forest Stewardship 101 Course for Landowners

Are you a property owner who has forestland and are interested in learning how to best manage it? This 3-session course, taught by the Virginia Department of Forestry, will cover fundamental concepts of forest management.

This is a 3-session class that will take place on Tuesday, May 28th, Monday, June 3 and Monday, June 10th from 9am-12pm.

Senior Area Forester Joe Rossetti, will introduce students to a variety of subjects during three class sessions. Joe will teach tree identification, forest ecology, succession, forest and wildlife management on May 28, timber harvesting techniques and timber sales on June 3, and provide common recommendations on June 10.

Registration is free, and participants are expected to attend all three of the class dates listed.
