More information:

There will be 3 main information sessions - one on Food Safety from the Farm to the School led by Virginia Tech’s food safety specialist, Amber Vallotton. The second session will be on federal procurement regulations—understanding how to write, read, and respond to the federally-required solicitations for bids. The final information session will be on “Breaking the Delivery and Distribution Code”—examining national and statewide examples of best practices for creative distribution of local foods to schools. Each of the sessions will include some visioning and small group work. Lunch will include a “Vendor/Buyer Speed Dating” session, where folks will have a fun way to get to know each other.
