Why Attend?

Virginia's counties, cities and towns are under increasing strain from the cost of services, aging infrastructure, traffic, and other impacts stemming from years of rapid, sprawling, and inefficient growth patterns.

PSG and the Coalition for Hanover's Future are hosting Chuck Marohn, founder and executive director of Strong Towns, to hear his messages about the costs of current patterns of growth and existing approaches public finance and debt, and the benefits of bottom up incremental change focused on the longstanding efficiencies and benefits of our cities and towns.

We are hosting his talk in Ashland, whose residents so love their town that they call it the "Center of the Universe," and amid a major comprehensive plan update by Hanover County which is debating how much to grow, where to grow and how to design that growth.

The discussion with Chuck will resonate with residents not just of Ashland and Hanover but with counties, towns and cities across Virginia. We hope you will join us, whether you live in the Richmond region, Piedmont, Shenandoah Valley, Hampton Roads, or other part of Virginia.
