This memorial was built to commemorate those people displaced from the Blue Ridge Mountains during the development of Shenandoah National Park.

This project is one of a number of monuments being created in the region. The Blue Ridge Heritage Project plans to encourage historical and cultural tourism to the area and educate these visitors about the people who lived in this area of the Blue Ridge Mountains before the park.

The dedication will be held at the corner of Main Street and Celt Road next to the county Administration Building. The public is invited to attend. No registration required.
