PEC's Position: Support HB 503

PEC supports HB 503 and the designation of the Hughes River as a State Scenic River in Culpeper, Madison, & Rappahannock Counties (from the Shenandoah National Park line in Madison County to its confluence with the Hazel River, a distance of approximately 10 miles). The Virginia Scenic Rivers designation has many benefits and is reserved for rivers that possess "outstanding scenic, recreational, historic and natural characteristics of statewide significance."
