Old Fashioned Picnic to be held Sunday, July 22
(Warrenton, Virginia - June 26, 2007) The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) is pleased to announce that Robert and Luciana Duvall have agreed to host a picnic at their farm, Byrnley, in The Plains on Sunday, July 22 to support the efforts of the PEC to fight the high-voltage, transmission line scheme proposed by Dominion Virginia Power.
"We are delighted that the Duvalls have agreed to open their farm, Byrnley, in The Plains to assist us in this fight to preserve our communities and its resources," said Douglas Larson, Vice-President of PEC.
The picnic will begin at 4 PM and conclude at 8 PM. A traditional summer picnic, guests are encouraged to bring their own picnics and a dessert to share as well as lawn chairs, sunbrellas and blankets.
Activities include live bands, organized games and family fun. General admission is $50 per car. Tickets are available only by calling 540-341-0175 ext. 7. No tickets will be sold at the gate.
