Reconnecting Virginia is the result of a collaboration to invite national transportation experts to help us take a second look and identify options for reducing traffic problems. This positive approach to achieving statewide transportation solutions supported by a strong collection of organizations and individuals with a variety of interests.

The resulting vision offers a solution that can accommodate the mix of commuter, agricultural, and local uses by expanding the range of transportation choices available and investing in more efficient use of our existing rail infrastructure.

The research program includes examination of best practices in states and metropolitan communities in such areas as:

• Access Management
• Intermodal Facilities
• New Transportation Technologies
• Public Private Partnerships
