"I can remember walking in Washington to fight Disney, and I know I still have my FTM t-shirt. Since then, I have been concerned about the preservation of this area's rural environment and all its unique, scenic brilliance. I am so thrilled to be working for the PEC, so that I will have an active role in protecting my home and this community."
Kate is homegrown-born right here in Warrenton. She attended Highland School and then left to spend four years in Alexandria at Episcopal High School. She went on to get her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History at Boston College, where she was a member of the Boston College EcoPledge environmental group and an officer of the ski club. During her time there, Kate studied art and art history abroad in Rome for a semester.
Kate lives on a horse farm outside of Warrenton, and has been riding since she can remember. She worked for Event rider, Sharon White, and Evented herself for many years before her move to Boston put all of that on hiatus. Now 23, Kate is still riding horses, and the Piedmont area holds a very special place in her life. Kate and her family have been supportive of the PEC and all that the organization does to preserve this wonderful place.
