Calling All Farmers to Participate in "Farm to Chef" Directory


Building on the success of its Buy Fresh Buy Local Summer and Holiday Guides, the Piedmont Environmental Council is inviting all interested farmers and restaurants to participate in the "Farm to Chef" Directory. Listing in the Directory is complimentary.

The "Farm to Chef" Directory will help farmers and restaurants to develop relationships and make it easier for them to purchase and sell local produce, dairy, meat and specialty food products. According to the Nielsen Consumer Panel Services, by 2006 food away from home now accounts for nearly 49% of the average American food dollar.

Farmers and/or restaurants interested in participating in the guide can do so by contacting Melissa Wiley at mwiley[at]pecva.org or at 434-977-2033. There is a February 15 deadline to submit information to be included in the guide.
