SCC Judge Recommends Transmission Line Approval

On July 28, 2008, the Hearing Examiner reviewing the 500-kV transmission line proposal recommended the line be approved conditioned on approval from both West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The Hearing Examiner recommended the "Southern Route" through Frederick, Warren, Rappahannock, Culpeper, Fauquier, Prince William and Loudoun. In the 223-page report, the Hearing Examiner chastised Dominion for their "self-serving advertising campaign" but ultimately labeled Dominion's proposal as "necessary" given current planning criteria. He recommended the Commission condition approval of the Virginia segment on approval from both West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
