Timeline for the 500-kV Transmission Line Proposal

April 19th, 2007

Both Dominion Virginia Power and TrAILCo filed applications with the State Corporation Commission for permission to build the new 500-kV transmission line. In Virginia, TrAILCo's portion of the line would begin in Frederick County at the WV state border and end in eastern Warren County. Dominion's portion of the line would pick up in eastern Warren County and then follow a "preferred route" south through Rappahannock, Culpeper, Fauquier, Prince William and Loudoun or follow an alternate route along or near to I-66 through Fauquier, Prince William and Loudoun.
