Conserving Farms, History & Nature in Madison

Over 634 acres of land have been recorded under conservation easement in 2009, with more on the way. Some highlights include:

  • A 353 acre farm bordering the Robinson River in Hebron Valley that protects some of the most fertile agricultural land in Madison County.

  • The 145 acre Hoffman Farm, is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a 2009 Virginia Department of Historic Resources conservation easement, forever protecting this core of the original family land grant and its historic 'round' barn. Read more about the designation.

  • A 136 acre property bordering the Crooked Run & Little Crooked Run, home to native birds, grasses, and trees near Leon.
