Chapman DeMary Trail Groundbreaking Ceremony
The Newton Marasco Foundation held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Chapman DeMary Trail in Purcellville on October 30, 2009. Watch the trail dedication video to learn more and celebrate the effort led by students from Loudoun Valley High School to preserve what is considered to be the last stand of old growth forest in the Town of Purcellville, and turn it into an outdoor classroom. This educational nature trail was named in recognition of John DeMary for his unfailing support of his students as they worked to make this vision a reality and for John Chapman for his donation of the land. For more information, please visit the Newton Marasco Foundation website or read their press release.
The Chapman DeMary Trail has been inspired by the youth of Purcellville and is supported by the Newton Marasco Foundation, Loudoun Valley High School, the Piedmont Environmental Council, and the Town of Purcellville, VA.
