Toll House In Path Of Kincora Road Links?

"The Loudoun Planning Commission is continuing its study of the Kincora project, the much-debated mixed-use development being proposed for the property near the intersection of Rt. 28 and Rt. 7. While far from a final decision, commissioners have focused on what some would call the most important aspects of the application: transportation and land use. The Kincora application seeks to rezone 336 acres to allow for 5.5 million square feet of uses, including 1,400 apartments and condominiums, 4 million square feet of office use, 500,000 square feet of retail, three hotel sites, a fire-rescue station and a performing arts center. "

Rt. 28 Planning Workshops Open To Public

"The public is being invited to speak out on the future of the Rt. 28 corridor during two input sessions this week. County planners have scheduled two Rt. 28 Stakeholders Workshops as the Board of Supervisors continues its evaluation of land use policies within the corridor. The workshops will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20. Both sessions will be held at the Claude Moore Park Recreation Center, located at 46105 Loudoun Park Lane in Sterling. "

Open Space Tax Program Under Review; Applications On Hold

"Those interested in joining the county’s open space tax deferral program will have to wait. The Board of Supervisors voted as part of its consent agenda Tuesday to accept the recommendation of the Finance/Government Services and Operations Committee to direct the County Assessor’s Office not to accept any new applications for parcels with fewer than 20 acres until recommendations are received from the Agricultural District Advisory Committee and given final approval by the board."

Commission Backs NVRPA Park

"The Planning Commission voted 8-1 last week to recommend approval of plans to develop a new regional park along the Potomac River despite vehement opposition from neighbors. Commissioner Gigi Robinson (Leesburg) cast the lone vote in opposition. If the Board of Supervisors gives final approval to the special exception, White’s Ford Park, at almost 300 acres, will be used for non-motorized boat launches into the Potomac, there will be hiking trails, and, in the second phase of development, a 60-site campground, with up to 10 cabins."
