"Recreational overuse and abuse of Kelly’s Ford, the historic Civil War era battlefield area, has prompted local officials and volunteers to take action. After a warm weekend, history enthusiasts, fishermen and area residents say visitors to Kelly’s Ford are trashing history by leaving food wrappers and containers, beer cans and other debris behind on the riverbank and in the woods. Although camping is not permitted, there’s evidence of camp fires and overnight camping present. "
