Charlottesville City Expresses Support for Albemarle Land Conservation

A part of what makes our community special is the natural area of the County.

—City Councilor David Brown

A recent PEC action alert email (see email) detailing the funding challenges facing Albemarle County's land conservation program, called ACE, may have created a new ally in Charlottesville City Council. Given that the city's drinking water supply sits almost entirely in Albemarle County and much of the area's local food comes from Albemarle County farmland, City Councilors appear to be recognizing the importance of helping protect Albemarle County's rural area from development.
