Meet Kim Winter, PEC's new Sustainable Habitat Program Manager.
PEC has added a new resource to our staff who will help landowners manage their property in ways that attract and sustain native plant and animal populations. As PEC's Sustainable Habitat Program Manager, wildlife ecologist Dr. Kim Winter
will work with partner organizations to provide practical, hands-on information for landowners, including how to restore degraded areas, how to manage existing habitat for wildlife and fish, and how to modify landscapes in order to boost pollinator populations while increasing crop and pasture production.
PEC's Director of Land Conservation, Heather Richards says, "Over the last four decades, PEC has led one of the most successful private land conservation efforts in America. As this land conservation movement matures, PEC is increasingly taking the next step of educating people who want to practice good stewardship of their land. The addition of a wildlife ecologist to our staff will allow us to better help landowners who are interested in improving their land for the benefit of wildlife."
Dr. Winter says, "I'm looking forward to working with area landowners to help them create sustainable, healthy ecosystems right at home."
